What would it take to have additional hardware platforms validated?
You may not need validation for a new platform. NIST/CSE have told us that if the validated OpenSSL software is compiled as-is for a new platform in accordance with the Security Policy then the original validation still applies (see Question 12). If source code changes are involved then some degree of re-validation will be needed (see Question 20). However, if a new platform is validated for a cryptographic module for which a certificate has already been issued, NIST/CSE just update their website (http://csrc.nist.gov/cryptval/140-1/1401val.htm) but do not modify the original certificate itself.
