What Year Did Segregation Start?
If one is referring to de jure segregation, then this type of segregation began in the United States of America after the civil war ended as well as after the Reconstruction period of the civil war and the implementation of the Jim Crow laws. The Jim Crow laws were laws that made people “separate but equal” citizens of the nation. The majority of such laws were outlawed in the mid 1960s. Although is the case, it is unfortunate that segregation does still happen in many parts of the country.
