Whatever happened to the electric car?

They have advanced to what is now called the hybrid. With the electric cars you could only go so far and then had to plug it in to recharge it. Not very practical and really limited on where you could go. Now with the hybrid you dont ever have to plug it in. It uses gas when going at higher speeds or long distances but uses battery power (electric) to run at lower speeds and shorter distances. The battery recharges itself. Much more practical than the old electric car. Most major car makers now make at least one model of the hybrid.
