Whats a decent hotel in downtown Austin, TX, that is walking distance to the convention center?

Downtown Austin (where I live) has a whole bunch of “decent” hotels (and much better than “decent”) downtown. The Hilton is by far the largest and was specifically built as the “convention center” hotel, although there are attempts in the works to add several additional larger hotels (most stalled by the recession, however). Agreed with Brendan that the Courtyard is a good option (as is its connected Residence Inn), as is the downtown Hampton Inn, which is a block away. The Omni’s a little further, but also a good option. Further up the food chain, the Four Seasons is the nicest hotel that’s easy walking distance; the Driskill and InterContinental Stephen F. Austin are luxury properties that are a slight walk (6-8 blocks). Finally, the Hilton Garden Inn — which has little connection to the main Hilton — is a good, and much less expensive choice. The W, which just opened two months ago, is certainly the trendiest option; it’s a four-block walk.
