What’s a digital hard disc recorder?
A digital hard disc recorder is basically the next generation of video recorder. Like a video recorder, you plug it into your TV set, via your digibox if you have one, and it records TV channels onto a hard disc (the same way your computer stores information) without using tapes or recordable DVDs. Many have extra functions, such as being able to record a whole series without you having to remember to set the timer every week. You can buy your own recorder from an electrical store, but Sky and Virgin both have their own digital recorders which you can buy with your digital TV package.
