Well since you loose balls, and slice a bit, I would suggest first getting a lesson or two to help correct that ball flight, and that will get you distance as well, may want to try the D2s from top-flight they are actually decent balls, and for a very good price.

No ball can really cure a slice, but a nice ball that keeps distance are the Nike Power Distances. They’re a lower line of Nike, but they’re cheap and work great.

Your golf ball has nothing to do with your slice other than the fact that the softer the ball (as in ProVI) the more it will spin and therefore slice or hook. You have an out to in swing path and an open club face through impact. Change those to an in to out swing path with a square club face through impact and you will have a draw with maximum distance. Oh and stop kidding yourself. Even if you have just started playing count all your shots, lost balls and OOB included and play strictly according to the rules. This is the only way you will ever improve. You can’t play Baseball and ignore your strikes!
