Whats a JPEG Image?
JPEG is an abbreviation for Joint Photographic Experts Group. JPEG is a commonly used compression technique used for digital photographs and website content. JPEG images are high quality while requiring 1/10th the space of uncompressed images. The JPEG format is used by many digital cameras for storing photographs. The quality setting on a digital camera typically adjusts the amount of JPEG compression. Higher quality results in less compression and a larger file. Similarly, images stored on a PC can be saved at varying levels of quality.
