Whats happening to Godalming Leisure Centre?
Work is taking place behind the scenes to turn the promise of a new leisure centre for Godalming into a reality. Members of local sports clubs, users of Godalming Leisure Centre and local councillors have been meeting on a regular basis to investigate options for the location of the site, the facilities that would be required and how to fund the difference between the £2.6million that has already been assigned for Godalming and the total amount that will be needed. The project-working group has looked at every potential site throughout the whole of Godalming and, through a process of elimination, now has a short-list of potential sites. In the summer we carried out a major survey to find out what the people of Godalming want from their new leisure centre.
