whats the best compact digital camera for capturing VIDEO?
1. Canon S3 IS has separate button to start video (you don’t have to spend time on any settings to start video). 2. During the video you still can take pictures according to resolultion set for photos (it’s possible because photo and video have separate buttons – see #1 above). However, moment of taking photo is visible on video (sort of blink). 3. You can use zoom when taking video. Canon S3 IS has 12x optical zoom so it could be very benefitial. 4. Canon S3 IS has no time limitations for video (you are limited only by memory). 5. Video quality is “good enough” (it’s really good for photo camera). Besides, – Canon S3 IS has Image Stabilizer; – Canon S3 IS has flip screen (you can take videos/photos from very unusual angles). – Shutter delay is not as short as DSLRs have, but for compact camera it’s short enough. I have previous model (Canon S2 IS), and I always keep it in my backpack. I think it’s very good “anywhere/anytime” camera.
