The answer is 14-2. In the NFL, a team has a schedule of: 6 divisional games 4 out of conference games 4 games of one division in conference 2 games against the other divisions not played. Such as the Bills schedule this year: 6 division (NE, NE, NYJ, NYJ, MIA, and MIA) 4 out of conference-NFC South (TB, NO, CAR, ATL) 4 games in conference, same division-AFC South (HOU, TEN, JAX, and IND) 2 other games for the other division in conference AFC North-(CLE) AFC West-(KC) So, if there was Conferences A, B, C, and D, and four teams in each conference A1, A2, A3, A4, B1 etc….,here would be the possible schedules for the top two teams in each division.
