“Fever blisters” are actually the blister stage of cold sores. They are caused by the herpes virus…no, it does not mean you have an STD. There are many over the counter remedies for them. But one home (sort of) remedy is to crush a Benedryl tablet to a powder, and mix it with lip balm. Put it on the blister/sore several times a day. You also can hold ice or a cold tea bag over them, to help with pain. Do NOT break the blisters on your own, let them run their course.
