Whats the best way to potty train my new baby Chihuahua?
Chihuahua potty training is a necessary task if you’re going to enjoy your new puppy. It’s easy to get started and patience and consistency are the keys to success. Most Chihuahuas can be trained fairly quickly, but Chihuahuas sometimes are difficult to train so do be patient. Your dog will almost always give some signs when elimination is about to happen. Observe your puppy and you will begin to see those signs. Then follow these tips for getting Chihuahua potty training done. 1. Take him where you want the elimination to happen at these times: immediately after every meal (three times a day for puppies); after any naps; when you take him from his crate; just before bed time; whenever it looks like the time is right! 2. Use a crate. Most puppies don’t want to make a mess in their sleeping area. If you keep the puppy in a crate most of the time while house breaking, you can more closely observe for sign of elimination about to happen. Then quickly take the puppy where they need to go.
