Many people think that there is no coming back from a shirt or another piece of clothing that has had nail varnish, or polish, spilled onto it. However, there are ways to salvage your beloved shirt and even make it look as good as new. The following are a few steps you can take to rid your duds of their nail varnish problem.
The first thing you should do is wipe off the excess nail varnish from the fabric. This will make sure that the stain does not set in deeper and that it does not spread to other areas, creating a larger and more difficult stain to work with. While this step does not completely eliminate the stain, it makes chances of success from other methods much greater.
Try using a non-acetone nail polish remover on the spot! Nail polish remover removes polish on nails, why shouldn't it work on fabric? It is rather strong though, so make sure to only use it on a small area. If you are worried about how the remover will affect the fabric, test it on a small, inconspicuous spot first.
Bug spray or hair spray has also been known to work on spots. Try this if the nail polish remover doesn't work, or if it is too strong for the fabric. Use it with a toothbrush and scrub the spot until the varnish is out!
In addition, they also make cleaners specifically for getting out tricky nail polish stains. Look for them in your local drugstore or online.
Good luck!

I suspect stain devil uses amyl acetate and this dissolves acetate rayon. It is not likely that a furnishing fabric will have acetate rayon but it is possible. As an ex professional stain remover I would advise great caution as it is easy to remove the varnish and leave the colour. If it was just a garment I may give you some tips but for an expensive item such as a sofa bed I would recommend professional help from a reputable upholstery cleaner.
