Whats the deal with Xorn and Magneto?
There’s a bunch of spoilers in here for Grant Morrison’s run on New X-Men, so if you plan on reading that, I’d suggest skipping this for now. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. During Grant Morrison’s run on New X-Men, he introduced a new member of the team, an asian healer named Xorn who wore a big mask at all times because of a miniature black hole in his head. At the end of Morrison’s run, it was revealed that Xorn was Magneto the whole time, and Wolverine proceeded to chop his head off after he went crazy and killed a bunch of people in New York, including Jean Grey. If you just read Morrison’s run, it makes sense. Unfortunately, after Morrison was finished with the X-Men, Chris Claremont wrote Magneto into his Excalibur title and retconned Magneto’s death by having him say “it was an imposter.” Okay, that kind of sucks, but we can still make at least a tiny little bit of sense out of it.
