Whats the difference between a publisher and a printer?
A publisher buys an author’s story from them either outright or giving the author a percentage of the royalties. They send it to their own printers to be mass produced, promote it and then sell it to the public through commercial retailers and book stores. A printer is paid by the author to produce their story in book form. A printer’s job is only to print the author’s book, not to promote or sell it. After hiring a printer, the author does the job of the publisher and handles promotion, distribution and sales.
