Answer: I don’t think much of the speed trap defense – that they measured your speed over some loops or were using radar – against a red light camera ticket. I have never seen the simplistic “the camera uses loops, or a radar, therefore it is a speed trap” defense work, on any red light ticket. When judges hear that defense they say that they don’t need the (possibly illegally-obtained) speed reading to convict you, and will ignore your speed, because they have a photo (or a video) showing your car behind the limit line when the light was red. “Truth in Evidence” (see section on this website) allows them to do such things.
