Whats the difference between a U.S. Army Ranger and an Infantryman?

0

Infantryman is a 11B in the Army. Most Rangers, but not all, are Infantry. There are Soldiers that wear the Ranger Tab (graduated from Ranger school), but are not stationed/assigned to a Ranger Battalion (there are 3 Ranger Bats), additionaly, there are Soldiers who are Ranger Qualified (graduated from Ranger School) and have never been in a Ranger unit. Likewise, there are Soldiers assinged to Ranger Battalions that have not (yet) completed Ranger School…but they are considered Rangers. Rangers come from all walks of life, Officers and Enlisted; everything from Finance to Infantry to Signal (Communication) to Aviation and so forth. The 75th Ranger Regiment is a flexible, highly-trained, and rapidly-deployable light infantry force with specialized skills that enables it to be employed against a variety of conventional and special operations targets. Rangers specialize in dropping in uninvited to spoil your entire day. They generally practice to parachute into the middle of the action
