Whats the difference between American and Canadian accents?

0

Just like in the UK accents vary according to part of Canada or USA but only if you get very familiar with listening to different accents would you be able to distinguish, much as only people from northern England are generally able to distinguish between a Yorkshire and Lancashire accent. But to simplify it, basically Canadian accent is closer sounding to UK English than a USA accent is and a Canadian from British Columbia (say) speaks much closer to British English than a Canadian from (say) Nova Scotia which is closer to a USA accent. As for American accents, very basically a Californian or a New England accent is closer to a Canadian accent than (say) a Texas accent is.
