Aspartame and aspartamine are not the same. Aspartame is the result of mixing in a laboratory the amino acids aspartamine and phenylalanine. In most complete proteins, aspartamine is one of the naturally occurring amino acids and has nothing to do with the artificial sweetener aspartame.
