What’s the difference between cane sugar and high fructose corn syrup?

Vivi Next Generation Soft Drink uses evaporated cane juice, which comes from the sugar cane plant. This natural sugar is composed of sucrose, which people have been consuming for thousands of years. High Fructose corn syrup (HFCS) on the other hand, is an artificial product that has its beginnings in corn starch. Bacterial enzymes break down the sugars to form fructose, which is then mixed with pure glucose. HFCS is a mix of the fructose and glucose, with slightly more fructose. Fructose is more readily converted to fat by the liver than other sugars – instead of giving you a natural energy boost and decreasing appetite, fructose and the products that are composed of its metabolites get stored. Also, we think natural evaporated cane juice tastes better than that high fructose goo that comes from a factory.
