Whats the difference between Cash & Carry and wholesaling?

0

Cash and Carry is very similar to a wholesaler. A cash & carry sells goods to the public, normally businesses. A wholesaler also sells goods to the public but normally in larger quantities that you would buy in a shop. In either you would go and buy a box of 24 bags of sugar rather than just 1 or 2 bags, and you would therefore get them for less than buying a single bag in a supermarket. The only difference is that a wholesaler may offer other services such as delivery, trade accounts etc. They make money by buying in bulk, but in larger quantities than they sell to you and therefore getting more discount. For example, a tv that costs £500 each may sell for £300 each if a someone buys 5000 of them. They then sell them on to you for £350 each as long as you buy 25 of them. You save £150 each and therefore have room to mark up your price when you sell the items on.
