Whats the difference between clams and oysters?

Clams are an obvious bi-valve that is capable of moving where an oyster is in a shell that opens but is not equal on each side. They just lay around filtering water to feed. Personally, I prefer oysters to clams because clams are chewie. Just don’t look at it and down one on the half-shell – delicious. They are excellent fried, and in a cream stew or soup. Just make sure they are fresh and you know where they came from. People get very ill eating bad seafood – especially shellfish.
