Thursday March 25, 2010Both collage and decoupage involve cutting (or tearing) out images or shapes and sticking them down, so what’s the difference? For me the answer lies in the final object, rather than the technique, and the traditional discrimination distinction between “art” and “craft”. A collage is a form of artwork, intended to be displayed as other pieces of fine art would be, usually hung on a wall.
