Whats the difference between download speed and interconnection speed?
Download speed is the actual transfer rate that you get when downloading something from another computer or the Internet. This depends not just on the speed of your internet connection, but also on the ability of the other party to send the data. The interconnection speed is the “theoretical” maximum which you could achieve (but probably won’t). Also, if you’re behind a router or connecting to the Internet through a LAN network, your interconnect speed will probably be shown as 100Mbps and not the real speed that you have. This is because this is the connection speed between your computer and the router (or in-house network server), sort of the first leg of the chain of computers, and the actual Internet connection only comes after this, so that connection is not even “shown”. This would be a classic example of difference of readings. Also, the speed of your Internet connection as claimed by your ISP is the maximum speed and it’s not guaranteed. Your average speed could be less (depend
