Whats the difference between GRADE 1: Residential and GRADE 2: Residential-WIDE?

0

The difference has to do with the “size” of the vertical pickets and the “spacing” between the vertical pickets. When you move up from Grade 1 to Grade 2, the size of the vertical pickets increase from 5/8″ x 5/8″ to 1″wide x 5/8″ deep. And, the spacing increases from 3 3/4″ to 4″. Typically, Grade 1: Residential is structurally sound for any residential application. The Grade 2 system is stronger and is typically ordered by home owners who: A) have a lot high traffic around the perimeter of their home, or B) have the budget and want the stronger/bolder Grade 2 system. (Moving up to Grade 3: Commercial and/or Grade 4: Industrial will also have larger horizontal rails and a thicker gauge of material). See Specifications link at the top of every page for more information.
