Both are terms to describe the process of turning wire into coils. As the name suggests, hand-winding uses human-power to turn the mandrel for coiling wire. Power-winding uses some form of machine instead of human-power, be it a power-drill, lathe or other motor. This category of the articles section contains more info.  more
