Whats the difference between poly and nylon, and which one should I use?
The difference between poly and nylon is the durability – Nylon is simply a higher quality fiber. Nylon has a higher break strength than poly, which essentially means it can hold more weight. The only drawback of Nylon is that is will absorb some moisture without a latex or varnish coating, where Poly will not. However nylon will work perfectly fine in wetter climates if it has a chance to dry out, and won’t be left outside in freezing temperatures.
