Whats the difference between Presbyterian, United, Anglican and Baptist churches?
Not that much difference. Presbyterians are organised democratically. Anglicans have a hierarchy organised with bishops. Anglicans have the 39 articles to state their doctrines and Presbyterians have the Westminster confession. The ‘Uniting’ church was formed recently out of congregational, methodist and presbyterian churches. The joke of the day was that instead of having one church we ended up with four. The reason for being called Uniting instead of United is that it is an ongoing process to continue uniting all Christians. Baptist churches are organised democratically. The Baptists believe that a person should be old enough to decide to be baptised when they are baptised. The others baptise their babies with a little water on the forehead and then there is a confirmation of the promises made at their baptism when they are old to decide for themselves.
