What’s the difference between supercross, motocross and arenacross?
Motocross is raced on a cross-country course, using mostly natural obstacles. Supercross is raced on a custom-built track inside a large stadium. Arenacross is similar to supercross, but on a much smaller scale. How long is a supercross season? The 2010 season started in January and ends in May. There are 17 races on the schedule, with five remaining after Jacksonville — Houston, St. Louis, Seattle, Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. How many riders are in a race? Main event races will have 20 riders. Some qualifying races will have as many as 22. What if it rains? Then you get wet. The event goes on, rain or shine. Will it be on TV? Yes. The Supercross class will be shown on CBS at noon Sunday and on Speed Network at 3 a.m. Saturday, April 3. The Lite class will be shown on Speed Network at 6 p.m. Sunday.
