What’s the difference between the Aorta and Ahnstern record labels?
Aorta is my own label, based in Vienna, which concentrates basically on CDs. Ahnstern is a sublabel of Steinklang, which is based close to Salzburg. I decide what I want to release on Aorta, and Max of Steinklang decides what he wants to release on Ahnstern. Ahnstern focuses more on music which is closer to folklore, whereas Steinklang concentrates on industrial music.When you started recording as Allerseelen, who were your major influences? Who made you want to make music? There was a Bavarian radio station which played SPK and Throbbing Gristle. I tried to find out where I could buy this music, and I found a record shop in Linz, in upper Austria, where I could get these releases. That changed my life a lot. My first industrial record was Throbbing Gristle, the 10″ single of ‘Discipline’. The second one was the SPK album Information Overload Unit.
