Whats the difference between the childrens home and the orphanage?

I would say that an orphanage is for kids either without parents or their parents have put them up for adoption The children’s home would be for children from dysfunctional homes or perhaps children who have broken the law but are too young for prison. I am just guessing really and these days there are very few orphanages or children’s homes around so it is hard to say. I actually have a job doing gardening at what used to be a Home for Boys run by the Anglican Church and it was for boys in trouble with the law and was opened in 1928 , later it became an orphanage for boys and for many years now has been used as a group accommodation centre.
