Boatwheels Custom Aluminum Boat Trailers uses galvanized torsion axles on all trailer models. A torsion axle is a simple steel shaft mounted in rubber inside a steel tube. There is a trailing “arm” on each end of the axle with a normal spindle to mount a hub. Torsion axles, when compared to spring axles, ride smoother, have inherent shock absorption qualities and fewer moving parts, therefore, less maintenance problems. Our axles come with accu-lube hubs, making lubrication far easier. Torsion axles have become the predominately used axle in better trailers. Furthermore, because our axles are galvanized, they are rust-resistant and long lasting.
