Whats the difference in the restaurant scenes of Chicago and Philly?
Both are hugely underrated food cities, and both have a ‘working class food’ reputation – Chicago for hot dogs and pizza; Philly for cheese steaks and pasta with red gravy (sauce). But while Chicago’s growth as a restaurant town was immediately a subject of national attention, Philadelphia has been slower to catch the world’s eye. It’s the sleeper hit of American food cities, and I’m proud to call it home.
