Whats the effective range of good quality .22LR ammunition vs .22 WMR?

The high velocity is attained by a very light bullet. In the real world, anything beyond 200 meters for any 22lr round in any 22lr rifle is pure luck. There are few 22wmr rifles as good as the best 22lr rifles. But assuming all factors are equal, you can expect about a 50% increase in effective range with a 22wmr round. The only time I had a direct comparison was a Savage/Stevens 300 22lr and a 305 22wmr. Because the trigger was less than perfect, I was happy with results to about 150 yards with the 300 and about 200-225 yards with the 305. Where I shoot, you can’t shoot 22wmrs at metallic targets, but you can shoot them with 22lrs and pistol caliber rounds. Shooting paper is fine, but that’s too limiting for me at the range.
