Whats the evidence for a Mediterranean diet for people with heart disease?
We found one good study on the effects of a Mediterranean diet in people with heart disease.[1] This study had to be stopped after 27 months because of the big differences between the people who ate a Mediterranean diet and those who did not. During this time, only eight people in the group who were eating the Mediterranean diet died compared with 20 people in the other group.
