Whats the life span of the internal battery, and what happens when it expires?
The internal battery has an expected life span of five years. When the battery’s charge is getting low, the message “Low Battery” is displayed when the PM5000 is first turned on. When this message appears, you should replace the battery as soon as possible. If the battery expires, the following data will be lost: scene data, setup data, fader calibration data, channel configuration data (i.e., 28, 36, or 52), and the date and time settings. If this happens, you’ll need to use the DIAG program to set the fader calibration data and channel configuration data. Failure to do so may cause the PM5000 to malfunction.
