Coronado is consistently in the top Best 10 beaches of the world, and the Coronado Hotel is very romantic. Some of the rooms are literally steps off of the beach. La Jolla is breath-taking, although I don’t know about rentals. Big Sur is God’s country, with some of the most beautiful coastline in the world, but you won’t get to walk to beach there. And then there is always Santa Barbara and Montecito.
