What’s the significance of the band name?
(When starting an early version of the band) we had foghorns going off on an island. We were on an island on Lake Michigan, so that was present. And my voice is more of a warning than an instrument, more like a siren; especially initially it was. There’s a three-fold element where obviously foghorns are meant to tell people kind of where the shore is and where the danger is. This whole effort was me trying to find ground after what happened in New York (after Sept. 11), and it seemed to make sense.
