Very good learning experience. We are the main military center in the Western Pacific Rim oustide of Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. We have the only MRI machine covering all military and beneficiaries from Misawa, Japan to Osan, Korea to Okinawa Japan (about 200,000) people in all. We run into all sorts of supply issues and equipment problems as well as staffing shortages which are common in an overseas medical facility. It is actually a very good place to work (busy and demanding) but as I said, a good learning experience and opportunity to advance your skills in CT and MRI (if you are in the Navy anyway). It is the only CT/MRI department that is run only by military technologist. In a stateside Naval Hospital the civilians run the day shift most of the time and leave the off shifts, call and all other duties to the military techs. Here we are still responsible for all that but we are the ones who run the department, so only military techs get to train here and then take the r
