Whats with all the cotton from the cottonwood trees?

– Rachelle from Burnsville According to Rainbow Tree Care, trees tend to make more seeds when they are stressed. This winter was very cold, and right now we are in the middle of a drought. Both situations are stressful to tress. The white cottony-stuff carries cottonwood tree seeds around. Because of the stress, there are slightly more of the seeds still flying around. It’s not unusual to see a lot of it in late June. It’s a little odd to still see it in July. (© MMIX, CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved.
