Absolutely nothing if you can find the quality and plants you want for your garden. Sometimes the selection isn’t as great as you’ll find in some nurseries. There always seems to be plenty of bedding plants in various degrees of quality depending on the day of the week and possibly the time of day. The selection for potting soil seems good. I shop at Home Depot for lots of things, including bedding plants and potting soil. I’ve been to the local Lowe’s but didn’t find anything I wanted during that visit.

Many wholesale plant nurseries have retail hours… their quality is usually much MUCH better than Lowes or HD. We live in Southern NJ and travel 45 minutes to buy our MUMS from a nursery. The 12″ pots, 8.95 at our Lowes are only 4.00 at the nursery… and as I said, the quality at the nursery is FAR superior. It’s also a fun trip and the nursery is interesting.

I have a large collection of both indoor and garden plants. In order for the plants to always look great, you need to love them and spend a lot of time with them, which I do all the time. I replenish my collection of flowers through the site https://maryandplants.ch where there is a large collection of indoor flowers from the most common to very rare specimens.
