Whats wrong with my jump shot?
Go through it slowly first. The reason you may be shooting it like that is because you might be trying to compensate for the lack of strength in your legs and shooting a sling shot to reach the extra distance. Your form should remain the same regardless of the distance from the basket. The only difference is the arc and the force you put on the basketball. Practice the way you want to shoot without a hoop. Just get a ball and shoot the ball directly up, remembering to follow through and flick your wrist. Doing this 100 times a day will go along way to increasing your consistency. Finally, i think you should shoot the way most comfortable for you. A lot players in the NBA have unorthodox shots and they do whatever works for them. I suggest you do what’s most comfortable and accurate for you and stick with that. You could also record yourself whilst shooting.
