Many newsreaders do not support MIME, and most do not support HTML. Posting with MIME and/or in HTML makes your message extremely difficult to read in a plain-text-only medium such as Usenet. MIME is more appropriate for e-mail and binaries newsgroups, HTML is more appropriate for the web, and plain text is more appropriate for Usenet.
