Whats your take on textbooks being banished from classrooms in favour of online learning?
Very sensible move proposed by California. Textbooks are absurdly expensive, as is mass education in general. It is built on the Industrial Era factory model of “mass” production. While it has served us well, its days are numbered. We need to move to individualized learning and online education, which the Internet can accomplish far better and for 10% of the cost of classroom infrastructure and delivery. It will happen in higher education first, and is well underway. Not as fast as Peter Drucker forecast, but most university campuses will stand empty within our lifetime.
