When an iKey 2000 Series Token Is Connected to a Windows System on Which PC/SC Is Installed AND the iKey 2000 Series Software Is not Installed, the LED May Turn Off After a Period of 12 Seconds?

On a Windows 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000 or XP system with PC/SC installed, an iKey 2000 series tokens LED will turn on when the device is first attached. If the iKey 2000 series software is not installed, the LED will turn off after a period of about 12 seconds. This functionality is controlled by the PC/SC resource manager. If no active connections to an iKey 2000 token are present, the PC/SC resource manager will power down the device, which will cause the LED to turn off. If the system has a copy of iKey 2000 series software installed, then the iKey 2000 series software will always have an active connection to the iKey 2000 token, hence the LED will remain on. This is the designed behavior of the LED and the iKey 2000 series software.
