When and where will Severe Weather Child Care be offered?
Severe Weather Child Care will only be available when Duke’s Severe Weather & Emergency Conditions Policy is activated and is not determined by the closing of area school districts or child care centers. When the policy is activated, Severe Weather Child Care will be available Monday through Friday (excluding recognized Duke holidays) from 6 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the following locations: • Duke University Hospital — Searle Center • Durham Regional Hospital — Private Dining Rooms • Duke Raleigh Hospital — Cafe When the Severe Weather Child Care RSVP line is available, if no requests are made by eligible staff to reserve space at one of these locations, child care services will not be offered at that location.
