Our new agreement with Via Christi Regional Medical Center is effective Jan. 1, 2010. Until that date, we continue to have a limited services agreement with Via Christi which means Via Christi is considered “in network” only for transplants, inpatient psychiatric care, inpatient burn care and other medical emergencies. After Jan. 1, 2010, Via Christi will be considered “in network” for all covered services that the medical center provides. 2. What if I want to receive covered services at Via Christi prior to Jan. 1, 2010? You have the right to choose whichever hospital that you want, but please keep in mind that if you receive covered services at a non-contracting hospital, you will have greater out-of-pocket costs. In addition to any deductible, coinsurance or copayment amounts for which you are responsible, you also would pay an out-of-network penalty.
