When did BET (Black Entertainment Television) get politically involved and start showing Presidents speeches.?
BET, or Black Entertainment Television, caters to the African American Community. Obama is the nation’s first president of African decent so yes they will broadcast his speeches. Telemundo and other Spanish language networks are carrying as much of the Sotomayor hearings as they can, no surprise there either as we come close to receiving our first latino supreme court judge. With that said, the Heath Care Issue is huge in the African American Community. A sector of American Society plagued with HIV, Diabetes, Substance Abuse and Addiction, and Hypertension. I honestly believe any president trying to improve health care would catch the attention of BET. I can’t prove it but I am convince that BET covered the health care debate when Bill and Hillary took it on.
