When did british capture Montreal?
The British captured Montreal in 1760 after years of fighting during the French and Indian War. The British had built forts surrounding French Canada during this time, pressuring the French to surrender. The supports the British colonists recieved from Parliment and William Penn during this time allowed them to secure their land and right to trade in North America. Soon after the capture of Montreal, the Treaty of Paris was signed, ending the French and Indian War.
