When did commercial dog food come onto the market, please?

I’m an old guy so this is from my childhood memory. The first dry dog food in our area appeared in the very early ’50s and was called Gro-Pup. It looked like chocolate noodles, very curly, flat strips about a half-inch wide. The first “wet” dog food, equivalent to canned dog food today, appeared shortly after. It came in two pound cellophane packages and was kept in refrigerated cases at the grocers. It was called Prince dog food. It looked like finely ground beef. It might have been horse meat. I don’t think it was cooked. There were two varieties of Prince. I believe one had liver in it while the other didn’t.
